About Nayana

Nayana Cariappa is a student and teacher of Yoga and Advaita Vedanta whose spiritual practice is deeply informed by Bhakti, self-inquiry and Devi sadhana. Her journey has unfolded alongside more than 14 years in corporate leadership at Google, giving her a lived perspective on sustaining spiritual practice within contemporary professional life.

Having studied with teachers within the Bihar School of Yoga tradition, she works with self-inquiry, mantra, meditation, Hatha Yoga and pranayama. Her teaching is guided by the Mahavakya Tat Tvam Asi, or “You Are That”, and by an interest in allowing philosophy to become something personally investigated rather than merely understood intellectually.

Areas Nayana works with

  • Advaita Vedanta The non-dual teaching of Tat Tvam Asi, "You Are That".
  • Devi sadhana Sustained devotional practice with the Goddess.
  • Bhakti The path of devotion as a way of opening the heart.
  • Self-inquiry Investigating teachings personally rather than only intellectually.
  • Hatha Yoga Classical physical practice in the Bihar School of Yoga tradition.
