About Smita
Smita Venkatesh is a Kali sadhaka and a teacher of Sattvic Tantra from the Shri Brahma Vidya Sampradaya, rooted in the Siddhashram lineage that holds the traditions of Guru Dattatreya, the Naada Sampradaya and Adi Shankaracharya. She teaches Kali not as a distant or frightening deity, but as Mother, truth, transformation and Shakti, bringing together scripture, mantra, bhava, self-inquiry and grounded daily practice. Her wider teaching spans the Dasha Mahavidyas, Sri Vidya, Vrindavan Rasopasana and the path of Prembhakti.
She was introduced to the Kali mantra at 14 by her father and first guru, Swami Divya Chetnananda, and later received a twenty-two-syllable Kali mantra through her guru tradition. Alongside more than three decades of sadhana, she holds a Bachelor's in Electronics and Telecom Engineering and a Master's in Management from Mumbai University, and a Diploma in Sanskrit from Kavi Kulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University, where she was a gold medallist. She teaches texts including the Lalita Sahasranama, Lalita Trishati, Rudram Chamakam and Bhagavad Gita, and is the author of Demystifying Sri Vidya and KALI: As I Have Known Her.
